Wrestling is a unique and amazing sport that can open doors and provides you with more opportunity than you will ever expect.
You cannot wrestle without becoming a better person. When you win, it is because of your effort, skill and work and when you don't win the same applies. Wrestling is a sport of honor, tradition and humility, a place where hard work pays off and lack of focus becomes evident.
Wrestling is the world's oldest sport. A sport enjoyed by Emperors, Kings and Presidents. This ancient sport has been mentioned with distinction in the literature of the western world, from the Greek poet Homer to the American novelist John Irving.
- Wrestling is a great sport because anybody can do it. Because you wrestle people your own weight, size is not an issue as it may be in some sports like football or basketball.
- Wrestling will help you in many ways.
- Wrestling develops important qualities such as self-esteem, sportsmanship, work ethic and leadership skills
- Wrestling builds a competitive edge --- the the unique one on one aspect of the sport
- Wrestling teaches you to see things through to the end --- in wrestling you compete the entire time you are on the mat. Matches last between 3.5 and 6 minutes depending on your age group and you must work hard the entire time. You have no one to help you and no one that can substitute in for you.
- Wrestling teaches you focus and determination --- because it is a one on one sport you control your fate and the outcome of the match. There are very few breaks and it takes focus and concentration every second of the match
- Wrestling will also help you grow emotionally and physically. Few sports can match the strength, speed and conditioning required as well as the maturity you need to wrestle.
- Wrestling teaches you the great feeling of reaching a goal. You only have to win once in wrestling and experience that feeling to know it is something you will strive for again and again.
